Lote Especial Tannat (“La Brava”) - Bodega Colome is a wonderful wine from another variety that has gained international recognition far from its “homeland”. We are talking about Tannat that has found its paradise in Salta, Argentina at extreme altitudes.
The grapes are sourced from the estate’s “shortest” vineyard (“La Brava”), at just 1.700 meters above sea level (!), from specific parts of the vineyard, those with the best sun exposure, ideal soil composition and microclimate.
The wine remains in French oak barrels for 12 months and gives us an almost black, impenetrable color, with aromas of black fruits, plum, licorice, dark chocolate and eucalyptus. Exuberant and robust in the mouth, with freshness, well-structured tannins and a long aftertaste. Like most Tannats, it needs to spend about an hour in the decanter to fully reveal its characteristics. It also has excellent aging potential, for those who have the patience!
A high-quality wine that you don't have to spend a fortune to enjoy.
It is an excellent pair to dishes such as smoked meats, steak with peppery sauces, game and matured yellow cheeses.
