Touraine 2023 - Francois Chidaine

Touraine - Francois Chidaine is the ideal introduction to the philosophy of one of France's greatest winemakers. Although Francois is known primarily for his top-notch Chenin, with this wine he proves that his talent is not limited to a single style or variety.

100% Sauvignon Blanc from biodynamic vineyards located near the Chissay-en-Touraine and Saint-Julien-de-Chédon regions. Most of the production comes from owned vineyards, while about 30% comes from cooperating producers who share the same philosophy as Francois. Manual harvest and fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures. The wine is then aged on its lees until bottling in February 2025.

It has an intense straw yellow color with green highlights, intense aromas of exotic fruits such as grapefruit and passionfruit, citrus notes, lime zest, fresh white flowers and a subtle flint flavor. In the mouth it is fresh, medium-bodied, with intense acidity, fruity characteristics and a lemony aftertaste.

A great value for money wine that reflects the terroir and variety from a producer that all wine lovers should know.

Ideal as an aperitif, but you can also pair it with fresh salads, seafood, sushi and goat cheeses.
