The Gerard Boulay "Oriane" 2017 is a Sancerre Rouge that stands toe-to-toe with fine Red Burgundies. Crafted by the master of Chavignol, Gerard Boulay, this Pinot Noir (named after his daughter) is sourced from old vines on limestone soils ("terres blanches"), yielding a wine of remarkable depth.- Tasting Profile: Vibrant ruby in color. The nose is perfumed with red cherry, raspberry, and hints of violet, combined with a distinct chalky minerality and subtle earthy undertones.
- Palate: Sophisticated and weightless yet concentrated. It features silky-smooth tannins and a refreshing acidity that leads to a long, precise finish. It is a Pinot Noir of purity and elegance.
- Winemaking: Following a minimalist approach, the wine is aged in neutral oak barrels to preserve its terroir-driven character and aromatic brightness.
- Food Pairing: An excellent match for roasted poultry, seared tuna, wild mushroom risotto, or herb-crusted pork tenderloin.
